Gila River Indian Community

The Gila River Indian Community (GRIC) is nearly 600 square miles and is primarily a rural community with wildland/urban interface areas and numerous archeological sites of cultural and spiritual significance. There are over 70 miles of state and interstate highways, large farming operations, major infrastructure, improved and rural housing developments, 12 schools, 3 industrial developments, 4 casinos, an upscale outlet mall, world class golf, a major raceway, large entertainment venues, 2 large hotels and a 4 star hotel resort.  Significant public safety infrastructure is required to mitigate the risks associated with GRIC’s enterprises, government, topography and proximity to Phoenix and the US Border.
